Follow-up Comment #4, bug #53363 (project octave): In my opinion, this opens two points for discussion: 1- Whether or not Octave allows such function handles (regarding Matlab compatibility). 2- If it would make more sense to extract as much info from a mat file as possible as well as to display the error for the variables that could not be loaded.
