Details:

This one is a feature request I hear a lot from Matlab users who do image
processing.

When plotting a raster image, such as with imagesc, it would be nice to have
the color of the pixel hovered by the mouse displayed as well as its
coordinates. Either the three channels R,G,B separately, or the raw pixel
value for a monochrome image. Matlab does this in the statusbar with a cube
showing a preview of the color, if I recall correctly.

This would help a lot, as the current workflow is to hover the mouse over the
desired pixel, take a note of the coordinates, and go check the original
matrix by manually inputting the coordinates.

Displaying the color picker could be a window property that's set when
displaying an image.

We could also imagine extending this to normal plots, printing for example the
associated legend entry when pointing the mouse at a curve.
