Follow-up Comment #91, bug #53006 (project octave):

I've tested what I think is the latest code on stable branch. I can now
search from an installed version. However, there is a problem in the sense
that the location of the QHC file is hard-coded into the development
environment. If Octave is *not* installed, then when I attempt to run from
the build tree I get

"Could not copy help collection to temporary
file. Search capabilities may be affected.
Cannot open collection file:
/usr/local/share/octave/4.3.0+/doc/octave_interpreter.qhc"

The ramification is that Octave is always looking to the installed location
for the file, and if there happened to be a version there while I was doing
development on QHC/QCH contents my modifications wouldn't be reflected in my
test from the build environment, i.e., "run-octave --gui" without having done
a "make install" first.
