Follow-up Comment #100, bug #53006 (project octave):

I've been testing GUI docked-widget relocation in KDE. One thing I notice is
that if one drops a window, not as a tab, but somewhere that makes it stand on
its own, often the GUI can grow in size bigger than the screen. I suppose one
just lives with that, at least in the short term. However, when the GUI gets
in this state it tends to become slower at repositioning. (It seems to me
that KDE is more active in terms of refocus and redraw.) If the Documentation
window is visible during the resize and relocation, the GUI motion becomes
kind of chunky, probably because there looks to be a great deal of content on
the main Documenation screen--a long Table of Contents followed by a detailed
node listing. My guess is that the latter is a bigger contributor to layout
speed because there is a node in the left column and short description in the
right column. In summary, is there too much content on the main Documentation
page?
