On my system, the highlight goes to the right edge, which also doesn't look
that good.  If there were to be highlighting, I'd say the best look is an
in-paragraph box sort of thing.  But if there is already indentation and
different font, maybe the highlighting is a gilded lily.  Perhaps just drop
highlighting examples for the 4.4 release and add it back in if people think
it is necessary.
