Follow-up Comment #4, bug #53617 (project octave):
This may be the following Qt bug:
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-66443
which says it is fixed in the latest Qt 5.11.0 beta.
I only say may because I can't verify for sure that the Octave crash and the
symptom in the Qt bug report are the same, but it is crashing on the same line
of code with the same assertion failure.
