Follow-up Comment #9, bug #53630 (project octave): There is no problem with the display in the Command Window or the Editor with the following video display hardware. Same version of Ubuntu on both systems (as in comment #1) with Qt 5 installed. Octave 4.2.2 was upgraded from 4.2.1 from the ppa on both systems.
