Follow-up Comment #3:

Thanks. You should let your professor know that the wavwrite function is part
of Octave now, no need to install the audio package. Also that the wavwrite
function has been marked as deprecated and you should be using the audiowrite
replacement function now, which is also part of Octave and is Matlab
compatible.

I'm not sure if any future updates of the audio package will happen, but it's
essentially obsolete now as all of the useful functions have been added to
core Octave since version 4.0.

Closing this bug as invalid.
