Follow-up Comment #2, bug #53806 (project octave):
The current release of singal (on octave forge) has not been updated yet, so
options for most people are just use the preinstalled singal package.
For normal installation of a package it would be installed using:
pkg -forge install signal
or
pkg install fullfilenameofthegzipfile.tar.gz
unziping the pkg somewhere wont work as part of the install of the package
will include compiling ant source code, and copying files to specific places
in the install.
