Follow-up Comment #1:
This is for Matlab compatibility, which writes 24-bit wav files as 32bit. See
the Algorithms table at the bottom of
https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/audiowrite.html. There was a bug
report about this earlier (bug #45490).
For the second issue, what is the data type of the variable 'y'? single,
double, or an integer class? Do you have access to Matlab? If so, what does
it return?
