Follow-up Comment #25, bug #53938 (project octave): I will need do a new rebuild, but dev octave running: system('C:/Octave/OCTAVE~4.0/bin/octave-5.0.0.bat --no-gui --norc --eval "pause(10); a=1"') works for me.
