Follow-up Comment #17, bug #48678 (project octave):
No doubt it has been widely used. How should this tie in with deprecating
octave_config? Are we going to get the value for LFLAGS from pkg-config now?
If that is the case then we might be asking people to rewrite their Makefiles
anyways in which case case we should ask them to also switch to grabbing
LDFLAGS.
