Follow-up Comment #5, bug #32316 (project octave):
Updating that it is still missing in 4.4.1. If there is any hope for polling
measurement instrumentation this request should be bumped up in its priority.
Matlab is used extensively for coding virtual instruments. Without an
asynchronous timer, time based measurements and control become considerably
complicated.
