Details:

Hi,

While saving a file with GNU Octave editor on a CIFS share generates an error
message, about 1 sec after the file is saved.

This error message says :
It seems that '/home/username/path/to/cifs_mounted/folder/one_file.m' has been
modified by another application. Do you want to reload it?
[No] [Yes]

Is there a way to :

a) fix this? (since the file hasn't been changed!)
or
b) add an option "Don't reload externally changed files"? (as a workaround)

We have seen the option to "Reload externally changed files without prompt".
That could also be a workaround ... but it's really uncomfortable since after
reloading, the cursor get moved to the very beginning of the file every time
the file is saved (and reloaded).

Tested softwares are :

+ Octave 4.2.2 on Ubuntu 18.04
+ Octave 4.4.1 on Ubuntu 18.10

Thanks,
Samuel Bancal
