@Philip: Thanks for testing. This warning should never happen when printing to
svg since for this format we don't need the font file at all. I'll fix this.
Anyway, you'll have the same problem of not being able to embed the right
default font in PFD files.

Since my system has FreeSans installed by default, I did not have a chance to
test Qt font registering my self. 

Could you look at the "cmd" variable, around line 1004 in print.m? It should
contain the path of FreeSans.otf, the default font file that is distributed
along with Octave. Do you see something suspicious?
