URL: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?55267> Summary: gtk message on GUI file-open Project: GNU Octave Submitted by: hardy Submitted on: Sat 22 Dec 2018 07:57:28 PM UTC Category: GUI Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Unexpected Error Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: 5.0.0 Operating System: GNU/Linux _______________________________________________________ Details: Here is how to reproduce this behavior: * I self compiled the Octave stable branch (hg-id 9644c0b7efd8) under Ubuntu 18.04 without any special config options (the only one was --prefix=) ** make check passes with no failing tests ** I did see some warnings about creating links when doing "make install" afterwards. Maybe they were relevant? * I start Octave from the build folder with "./run-octave --gui" * In the GUI I use the menu option "file" - "open" * result: In the GUI console I see the following message appear: >> Gtk-Message: 20:51:10.800: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged. Have I done something wrong during the compile / install process? Or do we need to fix this? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?55267> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
