Follow-up Comment #5, bug #56037 (project octave):

Just to help a bit more, by solving it by hand, one of the possible answer is
(x1=0.5, x2=0.5, x3=x4=…=x8=0). The objective value of the function is ZERO
(the global minimum) and not 0.62229 as calculated by @Dmitir. Since the
function is not reaching the minimum, I suppose something is really wrong with
it.

(Also, I used whatever default implementation of BLAS that comes with Octave
4.4.1, so mostly this bug should be reproducible in that scenario for sure,
cant say about other BLAS or OS implementation.)
