Follow-up Comment #2:

Works for me.  I'm attaching your commands as a script for others to try.  I
added a check that the positions are the same so that tester's don't have to
manually scan the results.

I used


run-octave -f --gui


as well as 


run-octave -f


to test GUI and CLI versions and both worked.
