Follow-up Comment #17:

Also changing the title because I don' think this problem is about dependent
properties.  Those are ones which have the attribute "Dependent" and for which
there is no actual value, they are just computed by get methods.

The failure reported here looks like a problem with calling static functions
during class initialization.
