Follow-up Comment #4, bug #61750 (project octave):

Thanks for the added explanations.  

In the help documentation, I cannot find info to indicate that only the index
of the (first or last) match would be returned.  Do you agree?  Or are there
other writing that may have indicated it, but I don't understand from the
writing?
