Follow-up Comment #1:

That error on run time might happen when a binary was linked with a different
version of Octave than on which it is used.

What does `ldd
/home/senbuvis/.local/octave/packages/parallel-4.0.2/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-api-v59/parallel_interface.oct`
return for you? (If that file is still there after the failed installation
attempt...)

Additionally, could you please try and configure Octave 10 with
`--disable-lib-visibility-flags`? Does that make a difference?

It looks like the output of your installation attempt was cut off in comment
#0. Could you please copy the output to a file and upload it here (instead of
pasting it verbatim)?
