Michael,
I've been working on a scheme to integrate parallelism into Octave's command syntax, i.e. high-level commands, and also support low level APIs such as MPI, PVM, and the like. If you want to take a peek, check out www.transientresearch.com/d-octave/ . The current implementation is at the proof of concept level. If you, or anyone needs help getting this version going, or want to discuss the future of this addition, feel free to contact me.

Best,

JD

I've been looking for options to get Octave working in parallel. There seem to be several projects. The one in Octave forge looks easiest to implement, but I understand that the expected speedup may not be there. Anyone have comments or advice? Thanks, M.
