HP-UX 11.x and IRIX 6.5 give faults on startup as well. Only Redhat
Linux and Tru64 UNIX seem to be working.
I had problems on IRIX 6.5 when combining -lscs and gcc 3.x.
My solution was to configure --without-lapack --without-blas,
or to use the CC compiler. For details see:
