The patch you sent includes a diff for scripts/set/setxor.m, but that
file doesn't exist in my copy of Octave yet, and the patch for
setxor.m is just a few changes to an existing file.

I checked in the rest of the files with a few more minor changes.

Sorry, please find attached a fix for this and ported versions of mkpp, unmkpp, ppval, spline. Other files currently on my hit list are
