Before you embark on this please read carefully the threads on XML on
the maintainers list in 2006. You can search the list easily at
http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gnu.octave.maintainers
in particular, you should read the message from Andy

thread. You should also look at Alois' summary of the current XML
situation in Octave at

Then when you are ready to do something, discuss it during the
implementation phase on this list as in that way you'll have a better
chance of getting the code accepted...
