At this point? None, at least for the packages I've looked at[1]. But imagine 
bindings for any outside library one needs, just for this package (the audio 
package might for example use libsndfile[2]) and the headers or libs are in a 
location that's not probed for by the configure script.

That said, this is currently a brain storming. We might well end up with not 
passing anything to ./configure, but Ithink it would be good if there was the 
possibility.

[1] I originally thought we could pass --with-mpath etc. to the individual 
packages' configure commands, but later realised that we don't call "make 
install", so this would be pointless.
