Thomas,

My concern is that the package format might need to be changed to please
you, and in that case packages we build for vanilla 3.0 won't be
compatible with debian and visa versa.. So its not the patch to pkg that
concerns me to get right before 3.0, but rather the need or not to
modify the package format itself..
