I think it only makes sense for us to distribute binaries for systems
that don't already have some kind of packaging and distribution system
available.  For the ones that do have their own packaging and
distribution systems (Debian, Fedora, Cygwin, Fink, etc.) I think we
should connect with the existing communities and work to get Octave
packaged and distributed through the normal channels for those
systems.  Then the Octave and Octave Forge download pages should just
need to have pointers to these other locations for binaries.  Doing
things this way seems to work well for Debian and Fedora at least.
