not very slow startup 2

Hi All,

I have the chance to work with a better hardware so the measurements are 
significantly different 
then before. The memory is 2Gb (conrast to the former 0.5Gb) the processor is 
Core duo 1.6Gz in contrast to the
former single core 1.6GHz.

The start up time is:
oct-3.0.1 startup is 2.5 sec  (versus the former 15 sec)
matlab-2007b startup is 7.5 sec (versus the former 22 sec)

However I have no chance to test oct-2 on the same hardware right now.
