Well, I think you sort of reviewed the guidelines and agreed to them.
I hope at least. It wasn't my idea, I got it from here:

In any case, I tried hard to make the issue known and anyone objecting
to any part was certainly free to raise a discussion (and still is, of
course).

I think that's the best solution.

Exactly what I do with Vim. For instance, inside classes, when I want
to put a function name on a separate line, Vim for some reason insists
on indenting that line and I found no built-in setting to make him not
to.
