Same thing here. I was using a wrong patch for clf.m. Now everything works
fine and I could run the whole Rawlings & Ekerdt plotting examples without
problems. I think that rc5 with this patch is fit for release. BTW, I
already released a Debian package for octave3.0 3.0.4~rc5-1 [1] such that
our users can give it a try. It is still in the experimental distribution,
though.
