No I didn't submit a bug report, as the issue came up at the time Ben 
implemented the cairo terminal support in print.m and we know that this issue 
has been fixed in CVS (as the gnuplot developers told us then).

I must apologise, there are newer snapshots avilable which fix this particular 
bug, but they did not list it on gnupot's homepage and did not announce it on 
the mailing list, you have to actually read the directory listsings, which I 
did not do thoroughly, so I shamefully missed it. 

So this particular bug is already fixed, and there are snapshots available that 
include it. My fault, I didn't realize it.
