When I configure 3.0.5 on Mac OS 10.6, I don't see this problem

The script I used to configure includes the part below, which is
derived from Octave package from Fink.

I am trying to build right now, but the configure went smooth. Here

Have you updated your fink yet. I found that FinkCommander has
issues with 10.6, so you may need to do this from the command line.
I 1st installed the new XCode (an "additional install"). Then I had
to reindex fink (fink index). I think fink index failed the first
time so I needed to run (fink index -f). Then I ran fink reinstall
fink, to get fink built under 10.6. Finally, I ran fink update
fink, to get the latest release.
