That sounds like the proper solution for the gl2ps part. Unfortunately, I don't 
know how to do that with gnuplot.

One ugly solution would be to have gnuplot create the eps file, then read it 
and write it into the pipe?

In any event, I'll need to push my local changes that consolidates all the gs 
stuff into print.m

... and as a heads-up, the same pipe mechanism will have to be done for 
pstoedit. That part still remains in __fltk_print__.m, but I think that should 
also be moved to print.m.
