I've generated png's for gnuplot-4.4.0, fltk-1.1.10, and Matlab R2010b ... all 
running on MacOS 10.6.5.

The fltk version of hold_5_1.png is John's (that demo runs fine, but reliably 
seg-faults when I attempt to print).
