I just thought I'd mention that plplot has and octave interface. I'm not sure
how many people are of aware of it (or even how good it really is compared to
others). Note that while I maintain plplot in Fedora, I don't actually make
much use of it. It seems like I've seen various discussions about plotting
interfaces here but no mention of plplot lately.
