Advice needed: patch stable or default?

I have prepared changesets to fix some bugs for the patch() command. One for 
stable and one for default. They are attached.

I have two changesets since due to conflicts in using the same changeset in 
both branches. For example, the change below (default only) conflicts with this 
fix.

Is this something I should worry about? Or are such conflicts a common part of 
merging stable into default?

If this isn't something to be concerned about, I plan to push this to stable.
