I don't get a segfault with make_int, but I still see the segfault with
octcdf, even in a simple program like this:

pkg load octcdf
nc = netcdf("file.nc", "c") ;
ncclose(nc) ;
-------

A temporary workaround is much appreciated, as I need a working version
(sooner than later).
