John you seem to have a lot of skipped tests due to missing
dependencies, if you need some help to build a full featured octave on
openSUSE 12.1 open a thread in the openSUSE forum
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/development/programming-scripting/
and I will drop in and show you what you need to install to get it.
