Hello,

I had problems with the multiple definition of functions, too. I wrote a
little installation tutorial for Debian-like distributions including a
patch to remove redundant functions

But I think your patch is more specialized for the MSVC build, right? I
don't work with Windows, so I cannot test it.

this looks a debian like approuch for the code.

I will add that portion to my autoconf/automake approuch (I borrowed something from arpack-ng) and then we can try on the several platforms
before submitting to Saad.
