The 'failing' one (testOOXML.xlsx) is in your github.

I do have another one (simple 100 rows x 1024 cols) that returns a 0x0 
array; but it is 4 MB (too big for this ML). I think it was made by (an 
older version of) OpenOffice.org, not Excel, maybe that is the cause. 
With Apache POI I can't read it either.

For the rest I've only got small ones that all work OK.
