Hello,

I'm evaluating octave-stable with GUI interface under Fedora-19 and XFCE4. I
have a function with error checking; and when such condition is detected,
there is "keyboard" statement close to the code where the error is produced.

When reaching the "keyboard" statement, the GUI enters debugging state, but
also displace the window to the virtual space actually in use. Signaling a
problem is a good thing, but changing of virtual space requires the user to
immediatly deal with the issue, eventually grabbing keypresses targeted to
the previously focused application.

Would it be possible to let octave GUI stick to its actual workspace, and
use some other way to draw attention ? A modal window in the same workspace
(will be reflected in the workspace manager), play a sound, ...

Regards

Pascal
