Sounds good to me. It looks like the classdef branch could be merged soon,
and the gui-release fairly soon after.  The sooner a return to stable 
and default
the better.  This "transition" time has gone better than I had feared, 
but this
should not be an argument for trying it again.

Anyhow, a lot of good work has gotten done and the sooner users get
to benefit from it the better.
