On that page TMW obviously only outlines the benefits.
At my work, using r2014b prerelease in the last months, a survey indicated
that adapting to these changes requires a lot of effort for some parts of
the code base.

Yet is looks probable that in the long run the changes will be quite
beneficial. In fact, changing the graphics system from handles (that still
work to some extent) to objects seems an obvious step.
