So, I'm wondering if we should try to get Octave 4.0 into Fedora 22:
As a Fedora 21 user, this would be great if possible. I routinely
use the current default Octave complied from the repository.
When using the CLI I have encountered
no problems with the current system (3.9.0+). I have tried the GUI
and it mainly works. Most of the defects are scheduled to be fixed
before the 4.0 release. Even with the system as it is now, it is
uniformly much better that 3.8.2.

You may have looked at the severity >= 4 bugs listed at:
http://wiki.octave.org/4.0_Release_Checklist

Looking at the list of blocking bugs, many are OS X or
windows problems, and a few in the list are already fixed.
How soon a full release can be completed is not so clear.
Of course, any help that you can offer would be much appreciated.

Michael
