I wrote a mex wrapper for the fortran lsei algorithm (constrained least squares fitting), and a mfile wrapper which gives it the same calling arguments as lsqlin (well, for at least *one* set of lsqlin calling args). In case it's of interest you can find it here:

it does work by converting using f2c mind you.
