I'm sure there will be problems that need to be fixed but we are closing
in on the actual 4.0.0 release.  Please try to build this version and
report any problems you find in the bug tracker.  I've added a new
version tag for the release candidate, so please use that when reporting
problems.

A binary installer for Windows has also been uploaded to alpha.gnu.org.

Minor issue, java no installed

 libinterp/octave-value/ov-java.cc-tst ....................... PASS   0/10
                                                                  FAIL   10
                                                                  SKIP    2

on previous rc3

  libinterp/octave-value/ov-java.cc-tst ....................... PASS    0/0
                                                                  SKIP    2

for the rest fine as usual on cygwin 64bit

Marco,

All of the BIST tests now check HAVE_JAVA before running.  See this cset (http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/8187a66039e4).  This should be cleared up now.
