The first tab in the editor styles should show 'octave'

What OS are you using, where did the installer come from (self generated, or
downloaded from somewhere)


I downloaded http://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/octave/octave-4.0.0-rc4.tar.gz.
I then ran configure and make install.

OS:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.6 (Santiago)
x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu

I attached output of configure script.
I think this OS comes with a relatively old version of QT (4.6.2). It reports qscintilla version < 2.6.0



More importantly it does not have qscilexeroctave.h and qscilexermatlab.h so wont support highlighting for octave.

resolved after installation of a current version of qscintilla.
