Crazy idea here but, have you guys considered moving the source code over to github? I find it really convenient to keep in touch with fellow developers on other projects. I guess one of the biggest challenges would be to find a way to support the Octave package repository with a backend that isn't Sourceforge right?

Everything should be quite easy to move, the web server only needs php for the current scripts to run, generate_packahe_html may need an update.
There may be issues with "pkg install -forge" but I think there is already a redirection in place from octave.org so this should easy to care of.
