control 2.8.5 and 3.0.0 build failures against octave 3.8.2 under MacPorts

Hi all,

I got word this morning that control 2.8.5 was failing to build against octave 3.8.2 under MacPorts (https://trac.macports.org/ticket/49824, note: trac server off line as I write this). These are the currently available versions under MacPorts, as my updates are still pending.

Note: the octave PortGroup actually does build octave package in the configure stage.

I verified this failure and also found the same build error for control 3.0.0 under octave 3.8.2.

On my development machines I built control 3.0.0 under octave 4.0.0 w/o this issue (latest successful build yesterday under El Capitan).
